KIDZ PHYSICAL THERAPY
An Intensive Pediatric Physical Therapy Program
COMMON QUESTIONS
IS A KIDZ PT CAMP RIGHT FOR MY KID?
Intensive therapy tends to produce the greatest gains in kids with high needs. They're challenged by the therapy, and there's no time to get bored or over-tired.
For kids who largely function independently but are experiencing developmental delays, a 3-hour session is usually too long. Their transitions from one apparatus to the next are brief, and they may get bored or tired out by the repetition of the exercises. In this case, we can create 1 to 1 1/2 hour programs, even after school.
If your child has uncontrolled seizures or recent hip issues, Kidz PT might not be equipped to help your child. We're happy to speak with you if you have questions.
If you want to discuss the options with Lindsey before enrolling, send us an email. We'll ask you to submit a basic health history form for your child before the call.

HOW MANY CHILDREN DO YOU SEE AT KIDZ PHYSICAL THERAPY?
We see just one child at a time during a session. Your child will be the only one Lindsey is working with.
But we offer two sessions per day during the summer. From mid-June through August, Kidz PT has capacity for 8 kids total.
Since space is limited, reach out to us as soon as you can.
IS IT HARD TO GET IN TO A KIDZ PT CAMP?
Currently it's not difficult to schedule sessions when it works best for your family.
We have space for up to 8 kids over the summer, and we're not yet booked up for 2022.
WHAT CONDITIONS DO YOU WORK WITH AT YOUR CAMPS?
These programs are best suited for children in major phases of growth and development and that are medically stable.
Intensive therapy is best for kids who are on the cusp of achieving a new skill, like holding their head up, taking a step, or walking across the room. They get focused time to develop the strength, coordination, balance, and confidence to meet the next mobility goal.
Age range 2 - 16 years old.
Intensive camps are especially great for ages 2-6 and puberty. These are natural times of enhanced neuroplasticity in kids — when their brains are primed to learn new skills.
The most common diagnoses include:
Cerebral Palsy
Spina Bifida
Stroke
Traumatic Brain Injury
Developmental elays
Down Syndrome
Developmental Coordination Disorder
Toe Walking

The clinic space is attached to Dr. Lindsey Shay's home, where she has provided in-home physically therapy for her oldest child, Conner, for many years.

WHAT IS YOUR NEW PATIENT PROCEDURE?
Once your registration forms and payment are received you will begin to design your customized physical therapy "camp" with our Physical Therapist. Your camp will include specific treatment techniques that will help your child towards specific goals that everyone helps plan. The length of the program will help guide what will be worked on in the clinic and what can be followed through with at home or school. Kidz Physical Therapy will provide something new and different from the typical 1 session a week or 1 visit a month. Any questions on which length of program is right for your child, please contact us and we can help talk through your decision.
WHAT DOES SUMMER CAMP INCLUDE?
Every camp is tailored to your child.
Once you've registered for a camp, Lindsey will start customizing the camp for your child.
She'll talk to you about your goals for your child, medical history, whether your child has an IEP or IFSP, and how much therapy you'd like to do with your child at home, after the camp ends.
